XR knee AP and lateral, cricket pad splint, crutches if needed, full weight bearing.
On-line referral to VFC. If displaced --> Refer to Ortho on-call
If there is lipohaemarthrosis (fat and blood fluid level) present without an obvious fracture, then a CT scan is indicated to investigate for an occult undisplaced fracture.
